Scott is certified with the International Code Council in the International Residential Building Codes. Although a home inspection is not a code-compliant inspection, having a working knowledge of the codes is very helpful in the inspection process. The building codes provide a minimum standard to guard against construction defects and safety related issues. The home inspection is an attempt to uncover both, therefore giving you the assurance he has the skills to provide a top quality inspection. Scott maintains a number of certifications with professional organizations within the Indoor Air Quality industry. Whether you’re concerned about mold, radon or other allergen triggers, he can help. The home inspection does not include coverage for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues. Any IAQ inspections performed require the use of specialized tools and equipment that are not a part of the normal home inspection process. Although these items are not included with the home inspection, someone who has the special skills and education to investigate and uncover these items is clearly more qualified to identify areas of concern and recommend further evaluation if indicated.
